August 1st – 5th, 2022 – The WCM 2022 was also the opportunity for Sarah to present her results. Using the two genomes obtained during the ERC project, she demonstrated that these genomes experienced a whole genome duplication, and proposed the hypothesis that this event may have triggered the apparition of toxin-coding genes and favored the diversification of the neogastropods.
